Morning routines…

Breakfast is essential within Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) due to it being the precursor to building energy for the day.

If you’re a morning guru (aka you work during the day, or have activities on during the day) then shortly after you wake, a meal should be on the cards.

Why? Because the chinese clock shows us that between approx. 7-9am the stomach qi (or energy) is at it’s highest.

Eating when the stomach qi is strong means you can

a/ digest food better

b/ support the making of blood via the foods you eat

c/ prevent brain fog and arvo slumps

If you eat when the stomach qi is low, or you just miss that meal altogether, some common signs and symptoms of this can include

a/ feeling bloated

b/ moving between constipation and looser stools

c/ blood deficiency (or in western medicine possibly low iron levels)

d/ brain fog, and waking feeling tired and lethargic

e/ afternoon lethargy, perking up around dinner, and then having trouble getting to sleep

f/ weight gain (surprisingly even skipping a meal can increase weight in the long term)
